It wasn't till I really thought back to my mother's cinnamon rolls that I realized she DIDN'T use cinnamon and sugar....just lightly buttered and sprinkled with cinnamon. She didn't glaze her rolls though...we ate them with a bit of butter on top. I glaze mine but it's more of a drizzle rather than thick covering. Hers never lasted long but the leftovers were never hard. Who knew that being "frugal" would translate to being "better"!
