I'm not Italian, but I do frequent an excelent Italian bakery, Vacarro's, here in Baltimore. This recipe seems very similar to the Casada Cake that they sell, except in cupcake form :-) Yes, I've never had Casada cake, but Sue in the test kitchen said the cannoli cakes reminded her of Casada cake. Guess I'll just have to take a trip to Baltimore. :) ~ MaryJane
