Maple syrup would probably be delicious in this recipe, Annie! Go ahead and use the same amount (maple syrup and sugar have around the same sweetness). With such a small amount, we wouldn't even worry about decreasing the liquid in the recipe. Make sure your syrup is room temperature when you use it, as cold maple syrup can sometimes cause other ingredients to clump. Other than that, just follow the directions as written and enjoy your bread! Kat@KAF
