Great minds must think alike!! This is very similar to my 'Italian Wedding Soup', except I use fresh garlic in my meatballs instead of powder & I sautee the minced onion & garlic for a few minutes before I add it to the rest of the mix. I think it makes the flavors more mellow. Fresh baby spinach, added at the end & I boil my ditalini separately & serve it, buttered, in a warm bowl alongside of the soup & plenty of grated parmesan cheese. I just made a pot last week, so I'll have to come up with another soup to make because I just have to try the scali bread recipe right away! I'm up here in the 'Great White North' too...not looking forward to what's coming this weekend...hmmmmm, maybe I'll make a pot of Potato Leek soup with bacon... Oh, boy, Suzanne... does that ever sound good, ALL of it. I love the idea of serving the pasta separately. Now I have to make this again- PJH
