We're sorry to hear that you're having some trouble with this recipe, Christy! The butter for this dough should be softened. Most often when a bread turns out a bit dry it's because a tad too much flour snuck its way into the mixing bowl — we recommend either using a kitchen scale to weigh your ingredients or using the fluff and sprinkle technique for measuring flour in volume. Another reason the buns might have turned out dense is if they were over-proofed and collapsed. We hope this can help for future baking adventures!
