First off, let me say I am not good at decorating. I can sit in front of a canvas for hours getting details right, but when it comes to cookies a smear of colored buttercream is usually the best I can do. So for 2 weeks prior to making these cookies, I was telling myself "think art project." And it worked! I must say the photo at the top of the page was truly inspirational, and what convinced me to give it a try in the first place. (I guess I should say I used the holiday butter cookie recipe. :) ) The cookie dough was amazing, no spread, kept the cookies looking like snowflakes and not flowers.
