I wanted to let you know that I have had great success directly mixing the meringue powder with the powdered sugar prior to adding the water and beating to the consistency that I want. Saves a step or two. I was also wondering if you textured the flooded cookie on the white on white cookie ornament (it doesn't appear smooth from your photos). I have heard that cake decorators use paper towels to texture cake frosting. Do you know if it will work on cookies? Thanks for a great and informative post! Hi there, Yes, that is exactly what I tried with the ornament. I personally didn't care for the technique, but as you can see it really does add some texture.
