Ian asked the question that instantly came into my head... :-) i actually tend to think of apple crisp more than pie, though, as the ultimate fall recipe. When i was younger and my family went apple-picking in the fall, apple crisp was constantly in our house. It is SO good with vanilla ice cream... although when we had it for breakfast we omitted the ice cream. :-) i think i'll have to try your recipe. It's great baking weather this week.
