can I use maple syrup to brush dough before baking (don't have maple sugar.... only A and B syrup... Elizabeth Sure, Elizabeth. But I'd brush it on 5 minutes before the end of the baking time - that way it won't darken your crust too much. You could also mix some syrup with some brown sugar, for a tiny bit of crunch. I think either would be fine. - PJH
