My mother did a version when I was young for childrens parties -thin sliced lengthwise -at the bakery with their equipment it was easier and sperad very thinly with alternate peanut butter and jelly. Then stacked and chilled (no 'icing') and sliced. PB&J ribbon sandwiches. No other mums made them !
