Hi Kathryn! Thanks so much for reaching out. This is a little trick we tend to do with bread and rolls to add a little extra flavor and texture. What we tend to do is melt a tablespoon or two of butter and then simply brush it over the top while its cooling. It's not necessary, but it certainly adds a nice touch.
