Thanks for the recipe and humorous yet helpful tidbits like what kids naturally do with cardboard rolls--ha ha! This cookie is a tradition in my family, my grandma and mother made them more cake-like and did not roll them, but dolloped the filling on a dollop of dough then another little tsp of dough on top of filling. My daughter calls them Jewish Cookies because of the dates, and my mother's heritage. Thanks for the cranberry edition, now I know what to do with fresh cranberries besides floating them in bowls with candles or making cranberry relish no one eats! I like the rolled wheel version better-more even distribution of date filling , and looks so much better! Love the blog and love King Arthur Flour- I'm a devoted customer!
