I had left over citron that I wanted to use up. This recipe worked great. I don't care for traditional fruitcake, and this is so much better. If I do fruitcake for the holidays from now on this will be the recipe I use. I did substitute dry tart cherries for the maraschino cherries. Glad you liked it, Pam.
