I have been living in Israel for the past 38 years and the tradition here during Hannukah is to eat jelly-filled doughnuts instead of latkes. (you still get the idea of eating something cooked in oil!) Over the years the bakeries have tried to cut down on the calories and made them more delicate and decorated . They are not as sweet as the Amercan one, but they're great and just as symbolic for the holiday! Wishing you all a Happy Hannukah ! Yes, Happy Hannukah to you, too, Mindy- PJH
