Here is another idea I use with this type of cookie dough. Take the dough and divide into 2-3 pieces, then add food coloring to them (use gel paste coloring). Chill the dough. Then roll the colors together just enough to make like a marble type look. Cut the cookies out and bake. No icing or other mess.
