I ask because I've already fed my starter this morning and want to use it to make the cake recipe this afternoon.... Sure, Barbara - the fed starter will be more vigorous. If you're making the chocolate cake, and you've already fed your starter, there's no need for the 2-3 hour rest period called for at the start of the recipe. PJH
