What a surprise to see these featured on the blog when I checked in this evening -- I had made them this afternoon so we could pack some yummy sandwiches for work tomorrow. I didn't have onion powder (thought I had some in the pantry, but I was wrong!), so I just substituted minced dried onion that I ground up with a mortar and pestle. Of course, I couldn't wait until tomorrow and had to sample a roll. Dee-lish! I tell you, my house smelled great this afternoon -- while the onion rolls were in the oven I also had a mustard bread going in my bread machine. It was nice to get the smell of the burning wildfires out of the house. I'm dreading Fourth of July weekend -- the vegetation is like tinder this year in Northern California, but people will still insist on shooting off fireworks, no matter how high the fire danger. Mustard and onion - definitely a good aroma combination. Best of luck with the Fourth - I heard you've already got fires going out there... We're supposed to get heavy rain and wild thunderstorms, hail, and possibly a tornado today - wish I could send you some of the moisture, at least! - PJH
