I’d love to know what the original recipe looked like! Was it 2/3 cup shortening and only 1/2 cup peanut butter? By the way, I have made your recipe as written here, with shortening, and it is definitely they peanut butter cookie of my childhood! Thank you so much!!! Using crisco instead of butter really did the trick!
