I'm a Boomer. My mom didn't bake... she could broil meat till dry, bake potatoes, roast a chicken, boil rice that she stirred until it was gloppy, typical school sandwiches, fry potato pancakes, baked chicken. No cakes, cookies, sweet treats. I was raised on Alpha Bits, Tang, Pop Tarts and Swanson TV dinners. Home Ec was a place where we learned that home cooking was opening a box of Bisquik, or opening a can of Campbells soup and adding a can of water. She couldn't have been that bad a cook... I'm still here, right? After reading one comment, I realized though I can still use a fork on these cookies, I've also got a potato masher that's round with a grid pattern! You mentioned the pusher in a Cuisinart has a circular pattern, but mine doesn't: it was the first Cuisinart food processor ever sold for home use, and I bought it to celebrate getting my post-grad degree. The pusher's smooth on the bottom. I laughed about you needing that hit of brown sugar... because I'm thinking about making these cookies into sandwiches with peanut butter creme filling, which in store-bought sandwiches is basically shortening and sugar. I deserve these cookies... thanks!
