Hot water pastry has been my go to for pot pies for years, especially when there is a lot of gravy to used up. I flavor the pastry with complimentary herbs, hot homemade stock instead of hot water, or cheese. It turns leftovers into something new and delicious. My sons enjoy leftovers as much as and sometimes more than the original meal. This pastry is great for standing pies too.
