Hi Willie, it sounds like your big pound cake would benefit from a cake heating core. There are different varieties of this tool. Some look like a big nail, and others are more like a hollow cone that you grease and fill with batter and then remove after baking, reinserting the section of batter that baked in the cone into the finished cake. We don't sell these, but you can find them elsewhere online.
