Hi from Cakeable Charlotte, a nonprofit in Charlotte, NC! We love reading about our fellow bakers through For Goodness Bakes. Our 501(c)(3) was founded in 2019 to provide an inclusive and empowering program for students who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Cakeable's participants learn baking skills to help them bridge the employment gap for teens and adults who live with disabilities. Our baking projects benefit other nonprofits in our community - we have served the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte, GiGi's Playhouse, and Cookies for Kids Cancer. We're currently baking pumpkin snickerdoodles for the Buddy Walk in Charlotte this month - yum! We were unable to bake with students for several months in 2020, but we just moved into a wonderful space at Sweet Spot Kitchen in Charlotte, and we're so excited to get started again and use baking to make our community a more supportive, encouraging, inclusive place for everyone. http://cakeablecharlotte.com
