I make popovers every Saturday using a recipe similar to the KAF version. Before going to bed on Friday night, I set my oven to turn itself on 30 minutes before my expected wake-up time. Rather than warming the eggs and milk, I use eggs right out of the fridge but while I'm cracking them, I heat the milk in the microwave for one minute. I slowly pour and stir the warmed milk into the eggs, which achieves the same result as warming the eggs and milk separately, but saves 10 minutes of warming time prep. Then while I'm blending in the salt and flour, I microwave melt the butter in the same measuring cup I used for the milk. By the time the batter is blended, the butter is ready to be mixed in. .Perfect popovers every time!
