Hi there, Allison. We're sorry to hear about the little hiccup of the butter running out of your scones while baking! Were you using a glass pan by chance? If so that could have caused the butter to leak out because glass heats up much faster then metal and can lead to uneven baking. If your pan was metal, it might be that your oven was a little too hot — you may want to stick an oven thermometer in there to double check that it is running at the proper temperate.
