How about a daughter of a boomer who grew up learning to bake bread out of Beard on Bread and the Laurel's Kitchen Bread Book? Between Beard's buttermilk white and all of Laurel's phenomenal whole wheat recipes (especially the rye ones!) I had pretty much everything I wanted. I've picked up Reinhart and the rest of the new new wavers as an adult, but I still go back to Beard and Laurel.
