Hi Debbie. For best results, you'll want to either find a cake recipe that's specifically calling for self-rising flour or take a quick trip to the store. Adding approximately 1 1/2 tablespoons of baking powder to a recipe that isn't calling for it could make for some unpleasant surprises in your oven that'll likely end in burnt, smoky batter at the bottom.
