I realize I'm a day late and a dollar short to this party but for other people's benefit: never, ever pour boiling water into a blender and then close it up to blend. The pressure from the steam will cause the lid to blow off and its scalding contents will explode in your face, since you will be leaning over it. Second, using pre-packaged shredded cheese has preservatives and is coated to keep the shreds from sticking to each other. If you go to Brown-Eyed Baker's site, you will see the common complaint is that it separates when melted. Her recipe does NOT work. I'm very amazed that KAF posted about the boiling water in a blender, which, as 'cooking professionals' they should have already known.
