Oh, what great timing. Just bought a bushel of apples yesterday (Ida Reds and Golden Delicious.) so know what I will be making in the next couple of days. I have always used a cast iron dutch oven but have had to watch it so closely. Anxious to try the crock pot this time. We have a farmers market near us that presses their own apples and you get the fresh, raw juice, no processing. I will be going there on Monday to get some to make my boiled cider. Another new recipe for me. Thanks for posting this recipe. It sounds delicious. Loved the memories with your dad.
