I remember Ebinger's blackout cake too!!! My mother in law would actually make a trip once a week to the Ebinger's outlet store in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn. Even the "day old" blackout cake was awesome! I also have a recipe since my family owned several bakeries in Queens (Peter Pan Bakeries)! So I have a repertoire of typical NYC bakery treats!!!
