I learned this recipe from a sweet old lady back in 1968. She called it Apfelschnitten... which is apple slices in German! I used to double the recipe and make it in a jelly roll pan! Then I started doubling that! and making 2 jelly roll pans and it still would disappear within a couple days! Very tasty indeed!!
