The Easiest Waffles
These light, delicious waffles can be served as breakfast, brunch, or dessert, where they become a crisp-tender base for ice cream, fruit, whipped cream, and/or chocolate sauce.
These light, delicious waffles can be served as breakfast, brunch, or dessert, where they become a crisp-tender base for ice cream, fruit, whipped cream, and/or chocolate sauce.
Preheat your waffle iron as directed. Lightly grease with non-stick vegetable oil spray, or melted shortening.
Beat together the milk, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter in a medium-sized bowl.
Stir in the flour and sugar; a few small lumps are OK.
Cook the waffles as directed in the instructions that came with your waffle iron.
For even lighter waffles, try this: Separate the eggs and mix the yolks with the milk, vanilla, and butter. Stir in the dry ingredients. Whisk the whites until medium peaks form, then gently fold them into the batter. Cook waffles as directed.
