Cider-Cinnamon Spritz Cookies
A traditional tender melt-in-your-mouth spritz cookie flavored with cider and scented with cinnamon, these little morsels will be a hit on your holiday cookie tray.
A traditional tender melt-in-your-mouth spritz cookie flavored with cider and scented with cinnamon, these little morsels will be a hit on your holiday cookie tray.
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Chill two ungreased baking sheets while you make the dough.
To make the dough: Beat together the butter, sugar, cream cheese, salt, vanilla, cinnamon, and cider. Mix in the flour. If the dough is very soft, chill it for 20 minutes before using.
Fill a cookie press two-thirds full and pipe cookies onto the baking sheets according to the press directions. Sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
Bake the cookies for 9 to 11 minutes, until they're lightly browned around the edges. Remove them from the oven and cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack to finish cooling completely.
To glaze the cookies: Mix together all of the glaze ingredients, stirring until smooth, and brush over the cookies.
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 10 days; freeze for longer storage.
