10 recipes to bake for Pride this year
Pride is a month of celebration, and for bakers, that means hitting the kitchen.
We’ve asked employee-owners and friends of King Arthur for the recipes they recommend making this Pride month, including show-stopping cakes, joyful whoopie pies, and nostalgic butter cake bars.
Frankie Gaw
"As a kid, I obsessively stuffed my face with my grandma’s pillowy steamed scallion buns... It was the kind of dish that felt 'foreign' and therefore not worthy in the presence of my friends or in the context of what I saw as American food. Cooking these scallion buns proudly is an acknowledgement of all the parts of my identity that I’ve kept hidden in the past. From being Asian to being proudly queer, loving my food has been the bridge for allowing me to love myself."

Giving Back
Outright Vermont
Since 1989, Outright Vermont has been building a Vermont where all LGBTQ+ youth have hope, equity, and power. Its Camp Outright is an overnight summer program for queer, trans, questioning, and allied youth ages 13 to 17.
We've donated to Outright Vermont and encourage you to do so as well. You can also find an organization in your own community supporting LGBTQ+ youth here.
