When we remodeled our kitchen nearly 4 years ago, I told the contractor that I needed a drop down section in my cabinetry and counter. He thought I was crazy to request a break in the counter under a window for a drop-down and didn't understand until I demonstrated. I have arthritis in my wrists and hands. The drop-down takes the pressure off my shoulders and gives some relief (though not totally, of course) for my hands when rolling out dough and kneading. Best decision I've ever made!
