There certianly is no flour shortage or shortage of demand for baking ingredinets of all kinds! While we can't say for certain why your local stores haven't had much supply, we can recommend giving them a call to ask that they start carrying more rye flour options or to ask when they typically get more stock so you can plan a grocery shopping trip for then. Oftentimes once a store knows there's interest in a product, they'll start carrying an item.
