Hi Rebecca, I'm sorry this recipe didn't work out for you. It sounds like something went wrong with the gelatin. I'm not quite sure what, though. Gelatin is what makes the marshmallow stiff. Maybe it wasn't bloomed, or it was measured incorrectly. Also, make sure you cook the sugar to the correct temperature. Give it another try. Happy baking!
