I've had great success with freezing buttermilk (so long as I remember to take it out to defrost well in advance of using it!) and have had some success with powdered buttermilk. As other reviewers have mentioned, its easy to come by and keeps well in the fridge (which I did not know at first...oops) and its easy to add into a recipe but I will definitely try the yogurt option next.
