Hey Lois! I'd recommend squeezing the pumpkin either in some cheesecloth, a tea towel, or even a big coffee filter just to drain out some of the extra water. If it's extra runny you could consider mixing about a tablespoon of flour in with the pumpkin directly just to thicken a little bit, but draining off the water might be enough that you can just leave it as-is and bake away!
