Karin, each strip is 30 1/2" long; and then you need a bit at each end for the velcro strips to meet. So one wouldn't be quite long enough for an 8" square pan, though you can velcro them to one another to make one long strip. And yes, I think it would work just fine for anything that tends to dome.
