An easy way to make hand pies (I use good quality preserves) is to use canning lids and bands to bake them in. And yes, they can be baked and frozen. For my granddaughters rustic wedding, I made 50 several days before, froze them, then packed and transported the day of the wedding. Of course take the pies out of the lids for presentation.
