Sorry if this has already been discussed. I am a bit confused about the question of, tight-fitting lids vs loose-fitting lids vs no lid vs cling film or a "Breathable" lid such as a little towel and rubber band. Presently, I am using a good glass canning jar that is the type that is fitted with a circular gasket and is secured with a clamp (if this is understandable). I keep wondering if this is suffocating the mixture possibly. My starter is a bit lackluster still but doesn't appear to be bad. It's only been a week or so. Any insights?
