Hi Barb,
First I want to say thank you for all of this info and keeping up while we are all stuck at home trying new things. I have been following the KAF sourdough starter instructions for 7 days now, doing the exact measurements of 4oz starter, 4 oz AP flour and 1/2 cup water twice a day since the third day. I am not getting any sign of rising at all. I have a slight sourdough smell and a small handful of unimpressive looking bubbles. The volume remains exactly the same as it was 12 hours ago - each time. Room temp is about 68-70 degrees and I have the plastic bowl covered with a dish towel. I see from other posts and your replies that changing the ratios may help but I'm just not sure what to try. You're the expert, what do you advise?
