I am making my first starter. I used 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and a 1/2 cup water. Let it sit 24 hours and fed it 1/2 cup all purpose flour and 1/4 water. It sat out another 12 hours and it had a pink streak on the top, which I know is bad. It was loosely covered and left out on my kitchen counter. I tried again and the same thing happened. What am I doing wrong?
