Hi Maya, you didn't say how many days you've been feeding it, but if it's doubling predictably after a feeding and has a pleasant aroma then you should be good to go. A vinegar smell isn't too worrisome, but if the aroma seems not right to you, then it won't hurt to give it another day or two of twice a day feedings at room temperature until the odor improves. It's been neglected for quite a long time, so the more revival feedings you give it the better. These feedings will improve the vitality of your starter and insure that it will perform well in your baking.
