Anne, I use a small can like a Ortega green chili can and poke a hole in the bottom with a sharp paring knife tip. Relieves the compression too. I've used it for about 55 years. Same can yes I just wash and dry. I have a big tuna can for shortcake too r for creamed tuna on my biscuits. No need to buy a biscuit cutter just don't throw away. I used a Pixie pen to write BISCUIT on it so no one thinks it's trash. lol..
