My sister makes a killer pecan pie by using the "Dear Abby" recipe, but reducing the Karo by maybe a quarter cup or so and making up the rest with bourbon. Not sure if she reduces the sugar a little too, but hers is the only pecan pie I can stomach--otherwise just way, way too sweet.
