I have reduced the sugar by 50% in every cake I ever made and I am a home baker and have baked many, many cakes over the years. I always found regular desserts way too sweet for my taste. Cutting back 50% is still plenty sweet and those I have served my cakes to, love & appreciate my cakes BECAUSE they are not so overly sweet!!
