I am building up the courage to make this, after reading all the comments. We just lost our lovely bakery that often had the Babka. My son is allergic to tree nuts, and many recipes besides this have of course these delicious ingredients. I was wondering if you have ever played with other ingredients, say, a toasted wheat germ which has a nutty quality to it. I would love to have alternatives for the tree nuts.
