I recently bought a Dutch oven that says don’t preheat empty. My solution: fill with water 1/3 the way up, preheat to desired temperature. Remove from oven and carefully pour out the water. The heated pot will evaporate any traces of water. Spray oil to grease the pot and slip the dough in. Cover, bake and voila!
