Hi, Tam. You're welcome to try using this preheated Dutch oven method with your rye bread recipe. If it's a properly formulated recipe, it should turn out beautifully. If you think the dough is relatively stiff and could use some additional liquid, consider using one of our rye bread recipes instead. Some of our favorites include Caraway Rye Bread, Sourdough Rye Bread, or Jewish Rye Bread. All of these recipes are well suited to this baking method, so feel free to give it a try. Good luck!
